Jennifer Lawrence is universally beloved, or so we thought. Apparently she managed to make at least one enemy this year, a Joan Rivers is bashing her.
Not for the first time, either.
She tells the New York Post, "My New Year's resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realizes how lucky she is and calms down."
Oooooh.
Rivers is still smarting over Lawrence's comments this fall that shows like E!'s Fashion Police encourage people to judge others and incite divisiveness.
Jennifer Lawrence, 23, said that such programming instills "all the wrong values" and makes it seem "that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat."
Rivers, 80, initially responded on Twitter that Jen is being "arrogant and a hypocrite" for loving Fashion Police during awards season but bashing it now.
Lawrence didn't respond to Rivers' tweets, but she did go on to tell Barbara Walters that she believes it should be "illegal to call somebody fat on TV."
The American Hustle star has been candid about her refusal to lose weight, her distaste for dieting, and willingness to admit when she's been photoshopped.
Joan thinks the actress' campaign is nothing but a huge act, however.
"I love that she's telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image. Meanwhile, she has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican," Rivers said, as only she can.
"Look at her posters. She doesn't have a nose, she has two holes."
"She just has to learn, don't talk if you're doing it."
Whose side are you on in this quasi-feud?
