Former Jersey Shore star Snooki pulls no punches in her new book Baby Bumps about media coverage of celebrities who are pregnant and/or new parents.
- Yes, Snooki wrote a book and it's called that.
- She cites Kim Kardashian as an example.
Speaking about the coverage she received in 2012, she writes, "tabloid monitoring of how fast women lose the baby weight is practically a blood sport."
"Some women have been mocked cruelly for it," she adds.
"If you weren't on the cover of In Touch Weekly in a bikini within two months of giving birth to talk about your salsa workout, you were a fat, lazy loser."
As an example, she pointed out "how Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian … were tracked and criticized in the media" after giving birth to their kids.
"Awful! Worrying about weight gain made the nine months even harder," Snook says. "The one bright spot of pregnancy was eating whatever you wanted."
Family members and friends have been outspoken in knocking coverage of Kim's weight gain and fashion choices during her pregnancy with North West.
Kate Middleton, too, received intense scrutiny before, during and after giving birth to Prince George, as her body was the topic of endless discussion.
Too much? Most likely, although it's easier to be sympathetic to some celebrities and harder with others who exploit themselves and beg for attention.
As for Snooki, her book comes out January 14, and she's going to unofficially be an aunt next year as well: BFF
