Juan Pablo Galavis has issued an apology for remarks he made today in regard to the possibility of a gay Bachelor on ABC.
When asked in an interview if the network should ever center a season around a homosexual single man, the Season 18 hunt said no... that would not be a "good example" for viewers.
Juan Pablo later added that gay people are "more pervert in a sense" and the show would be "too strong" if they were involved.
In a long Facebook post, however, the Bachelor has backtracked and tried to explain the remarks.
"I want to apologize to all the people I may have offended because of my comments on having a Gay or Bisexual Bachelor. The comment was taken out of context. If you listen to the entire interview, there's nothing but respect for Gay people and their families.
"I have many gay friends and one of my closest friends who's like a brother has been a constant in my life especially during the past 5 months."

Juan Pablo is extending a rose in this photo. We know millions of women would love to take it.
4. Andrew Baldwin
Will you accept Andrew Baldwin's rose? He was an early contestant on this ABC hit.
5. Brad Womack
Brad Womack was the Bachelor on TWO occasions. Where does he rank among all-time hotties?
Galavis then said his difficulties with English are partly to blame for the scandal.
"The word pervert was not what I meant to say and I am very sorry about it. Everyone knows English is my second language and my vocabulary is not as broad as it is in Spanish and, because of this, sometimes I use the wrong words to express myself. What I meant to say was that gay people are more affectionate and intense and for a segment of the TV audience this would be too racy to accept.
"The show is very racy as it is and I don't let my 5 year old daughter watch it. Once again, I'm sorry for how my words were taken. I would never disrespect anyone. Sinceramente, Juan Pablo Galavis."
ABC quickly condemned Juan Pablo's comments as "careless, thoughtless and insensitive."
Should this be the end of the controversy? Like A&E with Phil Robertson, should ABC somehow discipline Galavis? Will you still watch The Bachelor online?
And SHOULD ABC base a season around a gay bachelor?
