Punxsutawney Phil. The man, the myth, the Groundhog Day legend is set to make his annual prediction early Sunday morning, LIVE from the Keystone State.
What will he see?!
Will there be a shadow sighting, thus signaling six more weeks of winter? Will overcast skies foretell spring coming early to a nation reeling from the Polar Vortex?
Only Phil knows.
February 2 is Groundhog Day, of course, when the affable rodent that gives the holiday its name emerges from his Gobbler's Knob residence and sees his shadow.
Either that or he doesn't. A lot rides on this weather prediction, too.
If there's a Phil shadow sighting at daybreak Sunday, six more weeks of winter will be upon us, America. If there's no shadow, though? Early spring baby!
In the past 116 years, Punxsutawney Phil has foreseen the coming of "early spring" a mere 16 times, not surprising since he lives in Western Pennsylvania.
One of those times was last year, when he projected an early spring, only to see record snowfall totals fall on much of the U.S. not even a week later.
Punxsutawney Phil actually got sued as a result of this by one Ohio county, although the case never made it to litigation once his handler took thr blame.
It's a cautionary tale, however, as even the best have an off year.
The current forecast for Sunday a.m.: Wintry mix. You never know. All we can do is sit back, relive some of the best Groundhog Day quotes and vote:
