Echoing sentiments reportedly expressed by her mentor Jay Z, TLC ripped Rihanna for her frequent nudity during a recent interview in Australia.
Appearing on the morning show Sunrise to promote their first trip Down Under, T-Boz and Chilli singled out the singer for using sex to sell music.
"Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked," T-Boz said of Rihanna.
"It's hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, 'Oh, TLC must be jealous,' but it is what it is," the female R&B pioneer went on.
"We became the biggest selling girl group with our clothes on, and that says a lot. It's easy to sell sex. We could go around with booby cakes all day long."
"I'm just calling a spade a spade."
Is she, though? And in doing so, are they really just being hypocritical? Judging by the pop star's social media response, she's laughing off the criticism.
Rihanna responded to their comments by changed her Twitter background to a photo of TLC posing topless and then added a clear dig at the group:
The Kanye pic is a nice touch.
"When there's no changing the fact that I'm me, and they're well... they're them," wrote Rihanna, who shared some pics of herself looking incredulous.
We can see Rihanna's point, but when Jay Z also tells you to cover up, and you're naked or Twerking literally every day, we can also see TLC's, kind of.
