Over the weekend, Miranda Lambert made one of the final stops on the opening leg of her Platinum Tour, playing a show in Corpus Christi, Texas for a huge crowd at the city's American Bank Center.
And one of the many hit tracks the country music superstar sang for attendees was her lovely 2012 single "Over You."
Decked out in ripped jeans and a sleeveless shirt, Lambert strolled around the stage as she sang, accepting a bouquet of flowers from one fan before settling on a seven-year-old girl named Brooke Hester.
Brooke suffers from a form of cancer called neuroblastoma and she caught Lambert's she due to her pink hat and outfit, along with a face mask needed to protect herself.
In the following footage, you can see Lambert reach down to hold Hester's hand as she tried to finish the song, fighting off tears every note of the way. It's beautiful and bittersweet.
Said the mother of Hester to Today.com not long after the performance:
"It was very emotional and very special. It just took my breath away when I looked up, and I got the chance to look at Miranda Lambert and thank her, as she was holding Brooke's hand, for her complete compassion that she was demonstrating to my daughter in front of all these people.
"And then I just kept thinking, 'Oh, my gosh, she's still holding her hand, she's still holding her hand, she's still holding her hand!' And she wasn't letting go. You could just feel the love surrounding the moment."
A very special moment to be sure. You've gotta love Miranda Lambert.
