It is common for Hollywood stars to protect their wealth and assets from the hands of greedy exes. Prenups are standard business in the celebrity world.
But for The Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, she made sure her fortune was secure before she and boyfriend Brooks Ayers even got married.
According to Radar Online, Vicki forced her boyfriend to sign a contract when he moved into her home. And now that Vicki and Brooks have split, the contract is in effect!
"Vicki and Brooks has a renter's agreement that was simply an agreement that said any rent paid by Brooks did not count as equity on Vicki's house," a source dished.
Vicki redesigned The palace-like Mediterranean home that overlooks like the ocean in Dana Point, California, after her 2014 divorce from her ex-husband, Donn.
The insider stated, "It was only a contract that they had with each other and Vicki continues to own the house completely. It was just a simple renter's agreement… nothing more, nothing less."
On August 16, Vicki and Brooks announced their split in a joint statement. They said the break up was "amicable" and that Ayers went back to Mississippi, his home state.
At this time, it isn't clear if Brooks will permanently reside in Mississippi. But the source said, "Brooks is completely out of Vicki's house and has taken his belongings with him."
"Brooks' main priority right now has to be his recovery and beating his cancer. Everything else will have to come second but while he is doing this he wants to completely step out of the spotlight."
Not surprisingly, this isn't the first time the couple has called it quits. After Brooks allegedly cheated, Vicki and Brooks also split in 2014. To the dismay of Vicki's daughter, they rekindled their relationship--at least temporarily.
