Kim Richards may finally be getting the help she seems to desperately need.
Radar Online is reporting today that Richards was placed on 5150 psychiatric hold sometime in the past week.
Following her latest arrest, the troubled reality star had initially refused treatment despite dozens of pleas from family and friends.
"They were at the end of their rope trying to get her help and decided to force her to get it," says one insider. "They told her she had to do it or she was cut off from all of them financially. It is tough love."
After being committed under a 5150 hold, Richards is reportedly now receiving treatment voluntarily.
"Kim finally realized that she needed help and is truly committed to getting it," says the source. "Kim hit rock bottom and is finally ready to do the work needed to get her life back on track."
Richards' latest round of troubles began back in April when she was arrested for kicking a cop in Beverly Hills.
She narrowly avoided jail time, but was arrested again earlier this month, this time for shoplifting at Target.
Sources say Kim's problems range from alcoholism to a variety of mental disorders. Fortunately, the same insiders say she's now truly committed to working with the doctors in charge of her treatment.
