New England Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady hurt his left knee during a scrimmage with Tampa Bay Wednesday, but it looks like he avoided serious injury.
During a full team workout, Tampa defensive end Adrian Clayborn bull-rushed Pats left tackle Nate Solder into the side of Brady's leg as Brady was throwing.
All three players hit the turf. Brady rocked backward on the ground holding his left knee. He did, however, get up and limp off the field under his own power.
He returned for a few plays before talking with coach Bill Belichick and leaving with trainers. An MRI on Brady's knee showed no structural damage.
Brady, who was adorably visited by Gisele Bundchen and their son after training camp the previous day, is considered day-to-day with a mild sprain.
The 36-year-old tore his ACL in the 2008 season opener and missed the rest of the season, but played every game from 2001 until then, and since.
Look for the three-time Super Bowl champ to be on the field for the team's September 8 opener, leading them to another stellar season and shocking playoff loss.
