Royal Baby Prince George made his first appearance in three months today as he arrived with parents Prince William and Kate Middleton for his christening.

The royal baby's godparents - seven in all - were revealed ahead of todays ceremony. Who made the cut as the spiritual advisors to the future king?

Prince William's cousin Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, is perhaps the best known. Prince William and Kate Middleton broke with tradition by opting for friends.

They include Oliver Baker, who knew both at St. Andrews, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, who went to school with Kate, and William van Cutsem, a childhood friend of William.

Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, a former private secretary to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, also made the list for the royal baby.

Julia Samuel, who was a good friend of William's mother, Diana, Princess of Wales; and Earl Grosvenor, son of the Duke of Westminster, round it out.

Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton were widely speculated to make the list, although their relationships with Prince George will be very special regardless.

George's grandfather Prince Charles and uncle, Harry, are among the select few invited today, along with Kate's parents, Carole and Michael, and her siblings, James and Pippa.

The occasion is uncharacteristically small, in a shift away from the larger ceremonies that George's father and grandfather enjoyed at Buckingham Palace.

The young prince smiled as he was shown off to royal family members including his great-grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

George wore an elaborate lace and satin christening gown that's a replica of one made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter.
