Demi Lovato is a big fan of Kim Kardashian's body of work. Or just her body.
We doubt she's sitting around watching the Kim Kardashian sex tape, but she credits its moaning star for changing the way society thinks about beauty.
Seriously. Demi praises Kim's influence on girls for embracing her voluptuous, booty-licious curves, showing us that a gorgeous body isn't always stick-thin.
That is one positive way to spin Kardashian's career, that's for sure.
Asked about the photo collage she posted while reflecting on her body image issues, Demi told Access Hollywood it was more about the feeling than the clothes.
She was having a blast in her mid-teenage years, yes, however, "The very first time I went to the VMAs, I just looked so bony and fragile and unhappy."
"I look back at that and I think, 'You know what? I may have been thinner, but I am so happy I am healthy today and I have curves, which are a lot sexier than what I was aiming for.'"
"I think curves are beautiful and I feel great," Lovato adds, and for changing her perception, "I really credit women like Beyonce and Kim Kardashian."
"[They] completely revolutionized our generation's view... of what beautiful is. When I was growing up, the people that I had to look up to [for] body image [were] extremely underweight."
She didn't name names there, but you can use your imagination. Demi went on to lavish more praise upon the first family of reality TV in this regard, saying:
"You can think whatever you want about the Kardashians, but they really did help tons of women feel comfortable in their own skin, and I like to carry that message on."
"I wasted so years ashamed of my body when I could've been living the happy and healthy life I live today. I'm so excited to live my life the way I deserve to and to the complete fullest!"
A ringing endorsement we did not expect. But hard to argue.
