The secret came out on Gotham Season 1 Episode 5:
Oswald Cobblepot is alive. Jim Gordon did not actually kill him on the premiere. Oh boy.
In an attempt to cement a larger role with Maroni, Oswald told the mobster his real name, along with his criminal roots as someone who originally worked for Fish Mooney in the Falcone organization.
Oswald was beaten for this admission, until Gordon was pretty much commanded to visit Maroni's establishment and explain the story of how he faked fulfilling a hit for Fish andFalcone.
Maroni now has major leverage on Jim, hinting at plans to avail himself of this extortion material in the future.
That does not bode well for Gotham's one bright light on the police force.
Falcone, meanwhile, held a meeting of the families to assure them the Arkham deal benefits everyone. He wanted to assure them that Maroni didn't "win" anything.
One boss, Nikolai, didn't seem content, however. Fish gave the Russian a verbal beatdown on the spot, but we later saw her giving him a very different kind of reaction.
Yes, they're sleeping with each other because they both wish to take down Falcone. Although we assume Fish actually wants to end up on top, alone.
To that end, we saw her curiously grooming Liza to talk, sing and carry herself a specific way. Toward the conclusion of the hour, we discovered why: to bait and bewitch Falcone, as some enchanting version of his mother at that same age. Well... okay then!
The Villain of the Week, meanwhile, concocted Venom, the steroid that would one day make a super Big Bad out of Bane.
The investigation into this criminal shined a shady light on Wayne Enterprises, especially its plans to design chemical weapons.
Bruce studied the company's books at length and found "discrepancies" with how the Arkham deal was completed. Was his late parents' company really in cahoots with mobsters?
This curious 12-year old wants to meet with the Board. He has some questions.
