Ever since we first learned about the curious case of Rachel Dolezal nearly a week ago, it seems that bizarre new details have emerged every few hours, and today has been no exception.
As you may know, Dolezal's parents were the first to reveal that she's been pretending to be black for the better part of a decade, an accusation that memorably became public during this viral interview with a local Spokane-area television station:
Many have wondered why Larry and Ruthanne Dolezal would out their daughter, and Rachel has gone as to deny that they're her biological parents. (Her birth certificate indicates otherwise.)
A new wrinkle in this increasingly strange story may reveal Larry and Ruthanne's motives for exposing their daughter's history of deception...or it might indicate that Rachel is far more unstable than previously thought:
As reported earlier this week, Rachel's brother Josh is scheduled to stand trial on child molestation charges in August.
In a new interview with People magazine, Larry and Ruthanne claim that the charges are fabricated by Rachel, in yet another example of her compulsive lying and all-consuming desire to destroy her own family.
"That is all a malicious false lie," Ruthanne said when asked about the abuse allegations. "[Rachel] is the one who initiated it. We know it is not true."
"Our son wasn't even home a lot of the time it was alleged it was happening and I was a stay-at-home mother and very attentive to the kids because of her disorder. I never left [the victim] at home with our son or anything like that."
Ruthanne says the alleged victim suffers a mental disorder that made her vulnerable to being coerced into giving false statements by Rachel.
The Dolezal's adopted son Ezra says that there's a long-standing feud between the two siblings, as Josh was often the first to "call [Rachel] out" on her lies and manipulative ways.
"It's more false statements," says Ezra. "it's a really horrible situation...[Rachel and Josh] used to have a really good relationship, until Rachel decided to tear our family apart."
