In light of Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers' breakup one day earlier, last night's Real Housewives of Orange County was especially eye-opening.
The takeaway from The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 Episode 11: A psychic sort of accusing Brooks of faking his cancer diagnosis.
Certainly makes you think, given his history.
If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, you know Brooks' reputation ... he's not exactly considered an upstanding citizen.
Would he really do this, though? And why?
It all started when Tamra Barney told her "spiritual adviser" Scott Cruz about Vicki's recent troubles and asked if he could offer any insight.
Oh, and man alive, did he ever.
"She has a great heart," Cruz started, before stopping, then adding, "I have a wishy-washy thing on that ... the cancer issue … I just don't see it."
"He doesn't have cancer?" Tamra asked.
"It's very possible," he said.
"Who would fake cancer?" Heather Dubrow, while Meghan King Edmonds claims she knows someone who did, and "she got a lot of sympathy."
Cruz then hedged, as all psychics do, noting "I'm not saying he is ... I just don't see it ... it's too sensitive, and I don't want to offend if it is there."
That might've been all she wrote on the issue, but red flags were raised when Ayers announced he was changing the course of his treatment.
Brooks said he is pausing chemotherapy to instead blast antioxidants, then referred to cancer as something he "had" before amending that to "have."
Meghan, who was also present for these eyebrow-raising comments, told Shannon, who then told Vicki over a birthday dinner with Brooks.
"I love you, and I love Brooks, and I don't want to f--k up his birthday," Beador said, crying. "It angers me." Gunvalson seemed a bit more angry.
"Why are you crying, and I'm not crying?" Vicki said. "I don't know what the f--k is going on. I thank you for trying to be honest, but I'm going to spare him."
"He's gone through the wringer dating me. I've never been loved like I've been loved by this man. We're out! This is bulls--t! I'm out!"
The rumor that Brooks Ayers' cancer was fake or exaggerated could've easily been dismissed as a reality TV storyline, but amid their split?
It's sent the now-former couple into damage control mode, and it will be interesting to see what else airs on the hit Bravo reality series.
