An explosion was reported near the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday.
Reuters is reporting that the headquarters of the annual event has been locked down after an explosion was reported near the finish line this afternoon.

According the Boston Globe, there were dozens injured, although there are conflicting reports regarding the number and scale of injuries at this time.
There is also some uncertainty as to whether there were multiple explosions.

UPDATE: Two blasts happened at about 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Boylston and Exeter streets, according to CNN and local news reports.
The first blast happened across from the Lenox Hotel; a second blast came about 15 seconds later. The race was stopped and the area is being evacuated.
The impact of the explosions could reportedly be felt blocks away.
Store fronts have been blown out, and dozens of injuries reported, some of them severe. Witnesses said several victims lost limbs in the explosions.
