Within hours of the gun background check bill failing in the Senate, Paul McCartney joined the Voices of Violence campaign, making his voice heard by asking citizens to have their voice heard.
By texting "MYVOICE" to 877877, one receives automated message from the iconic rocker, after one gets connected to a U.S. senator's office.
Says the message:
"Hi, this is Paul McCartney, and in a minute you will be connected to a congressperson who needs to hear your voice, now. Tell the congressperson that you support common-sense laws that keep guns out of the hands of the wrong people, including criminal background checks on all gun sales."
In March, Yoko Ono used the memory of another Beatles member to fight for the same cause.
