Queen Elizabeth II can't wait to be a great-grandmother and meet her youngest heir(ess) ... if only the royal baby would show up one of these days.
Asked by one of her adoring subjects yesterday if she's hoping Kate Middleton gives birth to a boy or girl, Her Royal Highness said "I don't think I mind."
"I would very much like it to arrive," she joked, visiting a group of children.
"I'm going on holiday soon!" the feisty 87-year-old added.
The Duchess of Cambridge is due any day now, just as HRH is set to take her annual summer vacation at her Balmoral estate in Scotland.
We're all on pins and needles waiting for Kate Middleton to give birth ... but if Queen Elizabeth II can't motivate that royal baby, clearly it's got its own timetable.
