Apollo Nida just caught a break, at least for now. The impending trial for The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and accused identity theft mastermind has been delayed.
A judge granted his request to delay his trial until March.
In court documents filed Friday, a federal judge wrote that "this delay will allow the parties time necessary to discuss a resolution of the allegations."
"The Court finds that the ends of justice served by granting the motion to continue outweighs the public's and defendant's interest in a speedy trial."
Apollo Nida filed a request asking for the delay February 10, claiming that a postponement was necessary to respond to the government's charges.
That way, he can weigh a plea deal vs. going to trial.
Nida faces allegations that he stole people's identities through a shady business empire, then used their info to open fake bank accounts for cashing stolen checks.
His wife, Phaedra Parks, was involved with several of his businesses, according to investigators, but has not been charged or even named in the case.
The case will resume on March 25, but in the meantime, Nida may still be the doghouse with his wife, as well as cast members he recently brawled with.
