Juan Pablo Galavis could learn a few things about being The Bachelor from his predecessor Sean Lowe, who, as nice as he is, took him to task this week.
Lowe, who married his final rose recipient Catherine Giudici, started out by defending Galavis' decision not to propose to Nikki Ferrell on the season finale.
"My take on last night: I commend JP on not proposing if he isn't ready. And he certainly shouldn't feel pressured to say 'I love you,'" the reality star wrote.
However ...
Sean Lowe, who was in the audience for the awkward After the Final Rose special, says Galavis should have at least tried to articulate his feelings.
"As the Bachelor, you can't say I want to keep my feelings private," he explained. "You owe it to the fans and network to open up. That's the job."
Then, responding to a fan who argued in Juan Pablo's defense that "not everyone is cut out for public attention," he wrote, "Then don't be the Bachelor."
Lowe also discussed the exchange between Chris Harrison and Juan Pablo, coming down squarely on the side of the former for just doing his job.
"Lastly, disrespecting the nicest guy in show business @chrisbharrison should be a crime," he tweeted. "That's my take. Wish them nothing but happiness."
Lowe further opined that Galavis "didn't handle himself well" and shared that he was surprised by "how [Juan Pablo] fought the producers on everything."
And when a fan asked if Lowe had "taken JP out back and [given] him the business," the former Bachelor star replied, "Ha! Can't fix a guy like that."
Sean Lowe also doled out some hard-won wisdom to Galavis at the beginning of the season, wisdom that the single father apparently didn't take to heart.
"At all costs, make sure if you kiss someone, the other girls don't see," he said.
Juan Pablo loves f--king Clare Crawley ... and giving mixed signals throughout.
Lowe also advised Galavis at the start of the season to be open-minded.
It's hard to think of a way to describe Juan Pablo any less accurately.
