Russell Wilson may have won the Super Bowl this year.
But he's lost the game of love.
The Seattle Seahawks quarterback announced yesterday that he has filed for divorce from Ashton, his wife of two years.
The couple, who met in high school, got married in early 2012, a few months before Wilson was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft.
In just his second year under center, the former Wisconsin standout led his team to a commanding Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos.
"I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," Wilson said via statement. "Clearly, decisions like these don't come easy. Ashton and I respectfully ask for prayers, understanding and privacy during this difficult time. Moving forward, I will have no further comment on this matter."
We're not totally sure if a rich Super Bowl winner who should have no problem rebounding with a few (dozen) ladies is in need of prayer... but we'll maybe put in a word with the Big Guy on Wilson's behalf.
