Selena Gomez turned her back on former best friends Kendall and Kylie Jenner because she considers the Kardashian half-siblings to be a giant distraction.
Gomez's breakup with the sisters was first publicized after she unfollowed them on social media. Now a source close to her confirms the reasons why:
Selena, 21, wants to rein herself in, get back to basics and focus on what's really important, insiders say, and that would be her music and acting career.
The Jenners were just a "toxic" distraction, Selena feels, and had to get the boot.
The singer reportedly had an epiphany after Coachella last week, having been surrounded by booze and drugs while hanging out with the Jenner girls.
And Justin Bieber, and the various leeches/groupies/lowlifes that come with them.
Gomez is now so sick of that scene that she's decided to nix what she considers "sources of negativity" ... which is great, but now for the $64,000 question:
Does that include a certain douche-tastic, wannabe-hardass Canadian pop star?
Selena unfollowed Kendall and Kylie (and pretty much everyone else) on Instagram and deleted all her Coachella pics with the sisters. This is a fact.
Bieber and a bunch of others got dropped, too, amid swirling speculation that Selena is heartbroken over her on-again, off-again love interest yet again.
Because Justin Bieber cheated with Kylie Jenner? Because he said they'd move in together and changed his mind? Or just because he's a giant mess?
It's all very unclear, but Selena is determined to stay on the straight and narrow.
Insiders say she's focused on music and has been going to church almost daily in an attempt to turn over a new leaf and make sure she sticks to the plan.
