But he was arrested early this morning after a very public, very drunken outburst in Nashville.
The song writers - who has penned such country hits as "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" and "That's How Country Boy's Roll" - was taken into custody around 2:50 a.m.
According to TMZ sources, Davidson was imbibing at the Tin Roof in downtown Nashville when he got into a fight with various patrons.
Police say Dallas instigated the brawl, cursing and hurling homophobic slurs while punching his own hand in a sign of provocation.
Davidson screamed something about a "f-cking faggot" and was officially booked for disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Some kind of "medical screening" was administered while Davidson was in jail. He was released this morning.
