The most successful artist in music history is on his way back.
Garth Brooks announced yesterday that he will kick off a three-year world tour in the near future, with the first date to be confirmed on Monday and plenty more details to come afterward.
The 52-year old kept things mostly mum during a Nashville press conference, simply saying he's "very proud" of the ticket prices for the tour.
He also teased a new album in the works, with the initial single being released "sometime in the next two months."
What can fans expect from it?
"Garth Music," Brooks said, also explaining the studio work he's been doing as "cowboy songs."
Brooks will NOT be working with iTunes, but the upcoming album will be the first he makes available digitally in some way.
The country artist retired in 2001 and drew more than 5 million people to his last tour, which ran for two years and concluded in 1998.
Brooks has signed with Sony Music Nashville and his new CD will bear the RCA imprint.
