Following an install ment that tackled male-females roles in relationships and the financial dilemmas that plague couples, The Big Bang Theory Season 8 Episode 7 focused on gender equality in the workforce.
When did this sitcom turn so political?!?
During Ladies Night this week, Bernadette says that she's been picked to be in a magazine as one of the 50 sexiest female scientists in California. This immediately irritates Amy, who believes women ought to be celebrated for their achievements.
Sure, agrees Bernadette. But can't one be thought of as both smart and pretty?!? Yes, Penny, chimes in, it's what she does in her job!
Later, Amy and Bernadette clash after the former convinces the magazine to yank the article… and that's sort of it. No real resolution to this disappointing storyline.
As for the guys?
Sheldon runs into Billy Bob Thornton (!!!!!) as Dr. Oliver Lorvis in the apartment building and learns he's there to see Penny. He has stalked her ever since she flirted with him while trying to make a pharmaceutical sale.
When Dr. Lorvis gets upset, Sheldon pupps out the one social convention he knows: a hot beverage for sad folks.
The men get to know Lorvis and start to see him as just like them. He has built up a collection of film memorabilia and comic collectibles by serving as the "doctor to the stars' urinary tracts" and the guys, of course, wanna see it.
But this is Lorvis' plan. He locks the men away with his stuff and goes back to stalk Penny. While the men play Donkey Kong, the women set Lorvis straight.

- Bernadette: No one wants to see Neil Degrasse Tyson in a wet T-shirt bent over the hood of a Porsche.
- Sheldon: In urology terms, he was a drug-resistant staff infection, and she was a urethra that could not shake him.
