Britney Spears has released the official music video for her song "Perfume," and well, it's interesting. That's the nicest word we can use to describe it.
Interesting. A vulnerable mid-tempo love ballad, "Perfume" finds the pop icon in a dimly lit, fragrance-heavy love triangle that may involve a mannequin.
At least that's what the lifeless-looking mystery man resembles, as Jezebel notes. Watch the video below for yourself and decide if Brit has lost a step:
Wow. That is some serious auto-tune. No British accent though, sadly/fortunately.
The video stays true to the lyrical content (for what that's worth), in what Spears calls a "personal" song that "hits close to home" and "is relatable to everyone."
How, exactly? Well, you see, "Everyone's been through an insecure moment in a relationship that's left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that."
Follow the jump for some other interesting things the music video captures ...
Britney Spears, apparently, is the kind of woman who will jump a guy's bones without bothering to take her shirt off or put sheets on a mattress.
So raw. She also puts on perfume while looking like this (and plugging her own, as if that wasn't the entire reason for making this work of genius):
On a lighter, and random note, the fake-looking text message screen and the hot guy/other woman giving the finger to the world are just unintentionally funny:
