A selfie showing topless Danica Patrick's exposed nipple, taken by the NASCAR star in 2008, is on Sports Illustrated's website now. We have no idea why.
The racy pic was featured in a "Throwback Thursday" photo gallery on S.I.'s Swim Daily sub-site, normally a haven for Kate Upton bikini photos and the like.
Naturally, the good folks at TMZ were trolling the site and found it.
The SI spread of Danica photos was from 2008, and mostly shows her posing in bikinis, unzipping her way out of a racing suit on a beach, et cetera.
Pictures like the one above feature her posing in bikinis, showcasing her hot bod spread out on top of a hot rod ... but nothing all that suggestive.
The selfie at hand shows her pretty exposed in the mirror, though.
While Patrick has consciously turned her promotional efforts in recent years to focus on her personality instead of her looks, this is the Internet.
It's still not clear if SI ran this by accident or on purpose, and neither the magazine nor the racing star have commented on it ... but it makes you wonder.
