Justin Bieber's public persona went from squeaky-clean child star to thuggish troublemaker in record time. Now it seems that after months of image problems the troubled hitmaker might be trying to get back into the public's good graces.
The online leak of Bieber's racist videos from early in his career is just the latest in a long line of humiliations for Justin, and a very different sort of video posted online today seems to be his way of reminding fans that he's still just a 20-year-old kid who loves his family.
Justin's father, Jeremy Bieber, turned 40 recently and he celebrated the occasion with Justin and his other two children - Jaxon and Jazmin.
He posted the above video of Justin and Jaxon in what may be the latest in a long line of efforts to rehabilitate the pop star's reputation:
Bieber was baptized in NYC recently, a reminder of the religious devotion that he flaunted so proudly in the early days of his career.
Bieber's desire to re-connect with his faith and family may be part of a sincere attempt to change his ways, but the public nature of his recent wholesome activities means they probably also double as part of a last-ditch effort to rescue his public image from the brink.
But whether Justin is trying to save his soul or just his career, spending more time with his dad may not be the answer. Jeremy Bieber has had troubles of his own recently, proving that in this case the rebellious apple didn't fall far from the tattooed tree.
