Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta cast member Stevie J was arrested this week for non-payment of child support. Seven figures' worth of child support.
Long before Stevie J's fake marriage to Joseline, the reality star was in a relationship with another woman that was apparently too costly for him.
Stevie J and his live-in girlfriend had a child in both 1997 and 1998. In 1999, Stevie was ordered to pay around $6,600 a month in child support.
Eventually, that amount was raised to $8,500 per month ... but dude stopped paying in 2001, accruing an insane tab (so to speak) of $1,107,412.
How he got away with this for so long is unclear, but his baby mama clearly isn't pleased, as she sought criminal charges and police apprehended him.
Stevie posted a $25,000 bond and was released from custody, but will have to appear in New York in what is now a criminal child support case.
He is facing one count of failing to pay child support, which is far from a joke; it carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison if he's convicted.
