Yesterday, we learned that Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin broke up after four months of dating.
Neither side has commented on the split yet, but a source says Jen was the one to call the whole thing off...and it came as a total surprise to Chris.
"Jen is the one who broke it off with Chris," a source tells People magazine.
The insider adds that split was not caused by Martin's dinner date with Gwyneth Paltrow, as has been widely rumored.
Lawrence was apparently very understanding about Martin's need to maintain a close relationship with the mother of his children, and the couple spent several date nights together at his home, even after video of Martin and Paltrow dining out together the Internet.
The source doesn't give any specifics with regard to Jen's reasons for calling it quits, but it seems that after a passionate four months, the romance simply fizzled.
Many have pointed out that when Lawrence described her perfect boyfriend in a recent interview, she claimed that she wants an unremarkable homebody type...not an internationally famous rockstar with a lifestyle guru ex-wife.
Of course, it's possible the media played a majot role in the split. Jen dated Nicholas Hoult for four years with little interference from the press.
Her relationship with Martin, however, was under constant scrutiny right from the start. Given everything that she's been through lately, it's not hard to see why that may have been a major turn-off for Jen.
Say it isn't so!!!! Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks, stunningly, called it quits in September 2014.
