Following the Mark McDaniel sex scandal, June Shannon and her family made the wise decision to relocate from the small town of McIntyre, Georgia to the slightly larger community of Hampton, roughly 90 minutes away.
Naturally, the family has been unable to escape criticism (their latest controversy involves Honey Boo Boo's obesity), but sources say they're not confronted with reminders of their sordid past every day, as they were in McIntyre.
Curiously, however, one member of the Shannon clan decide not to join her mother and sister in their swanky new home.
In a long, rambling, and often nonsensical Facebook update (that's since been deleted), Mama June shared the news that 17-year-old Jessica Shannon (commonly referred to as "Chubbs"), will remain in McIntyre indefinitely.
"The reason Jessica stayed in McIntyre is because she only has two and a half months to graduate," June wrote. "It was a hard decision but she wanted to graduate with her friends...She comes home and we talk."
The post may have been deleted because portions of it seemed to support the rumor that June is often drunk these days, but it also might have been removed because of the holes in June's story that were pointed out in the comments section.
Fans noted that given how close it is to the end of the school year, Jessica would have been permitted to stay at her current high school, and that the commute from Hampton wouldn't have been much longer than the one she makes now.
Commenters also remarked that June didn't state whether or not Jessica would be moving in with her family once she graduates.
So there may be something more here than meets the eye. Of course, when a story involves June Shannon, we just assume there's a whole lot of lyin' going on:
June claimed the photo of her lying in bed with Mark McDaniel was Photoshopped by TMZ. She was unable to produce the original image that TMZ had allegedly edited.
June was asked by Dr. Phil about her daughter's accusation that she'd stolen from her trust fund to buy a car for Mark McDaniel. June turned the tables and claimed Anna was lying.
June claims she's only seen Mark McDaniel twice since he was released from prison- both times in group settings. Photographic evidence offered by TMZ and Lee "Uncle Poodle" Thompson suggests otherwise.
Asked if she had been a victim of abuse when she was young, Shannon stated that she had not. She did, however, open about losing her virginity at 12 years old and dating men in their 30s while she was in her teens.
June claims she may have cancer but has not been diagnosed because she's too busy with her kids to see a doctor. She also denied reports that she attempted suicide while pregnant with Honey Boo Boo.
