The most horrifying show on TV just a got a bit more monstrous.
Lady Gaga announced moments ago that she'll be appearing in season 5 of American Horror Story.
The unpredictable pop star hasn't revealed how large of a role or what kind of character she'll be playing, but she did tweet a teaser that's both vintage AHS and pure, uncut Gaga:

Sources indicate that this is no mere celebrity cameo. With series star Jessica Lange sitting this season out, Gaga will reportedly take over the lead.
As usual, AHS producers are keeping plot details for the upcoming season under wraps, but news of the Mother Monster's role is sure to have fans frothing with anticipation by the time of its October debut.
For those concerned about Ms. Germanotta's acting chops, don't forget about the Gaga cameo in Machete Kills, or her memorable part as a "Girl By the Pool" in a season 3 episode of The Sopranos. With a resume like that, who needs training?
Besides, can you think of anyone who would better fit into the world of AHS than the Mother Monster?
Between the near-universal acclaim for Gaga's performance at the Oscars and excitement over her recent engagement to Taylor Kinney, it looks like we may be in the midst of a full-blown Gaga-naissance!
Unfortunately, the prospect of waiting until October to see what weirdness she has in store for us on AHS is more terrifying than anything the show's writers could conjure up
