She has officially Twerked her way to the top.

Following a year in which she totally and completely did away with any perception of herself as Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has been named MTV's Artist of 2013.

It was really an easy choice for the network, which cited a pair of fact-based reasons for the honor:

1. Miley's Video Music Awards duet with Robin Thicke was the most-watched video on the MTV website.
2. Miley's section of the site was more viewed than that of any artist over the past 12 months.

"She dominated the music charts and critics' best-of lists while creating some of the year's most memorable moments," said Amy Doyle, head of MTV's music and talent programming strategy, of Cyrus.

And, really, whatever opinion you may have of this 21-year old, can you really argue with those points?
