Sources say that after the racy snapshots of Demi Lovato nude hit the web, Wilmer has been the one to comfort and calm the often-fragile pop star.
He showed their solidarity by appearing next to her on American Idol on April 16, and she's had his back, blasting critics of the former That '70s Show star.
Lovato blasted The Daily Beast as "ignorant f--ks" after that site ran an article on Wilmer's skeezy ways and female celebs' odd fascination with him.
"He is talking her through this unfortunate experience and making her feel more comfortable with how things should be handled," the source said.
Valderrama, the insider went on, has been the one "calming her and making it not get to her as much as it should. That is why she loves him, he gets her."

Naturally, "she thinks that it will be released around a time that she has something to sell like a song, book or something that goes with her career."
