A catering company called Dirty Bird Fried Chicken has some critics clucking mad over a logo that could best be described as ... well, dirty. Very dirty.
The company insists it created a rooster that incorporates its initials, DB. Some people see it as a penis that is incredibly excited, and not by fried chicken.
So either way, it's a cock of some kind. In a manner of speaking.
Mark James, the logo's designer, insists it's supposed to be a barnyard bird and started "working with a lowercase 'db' linking them to form the shape of a rooster."
"It's a graphic representation of a rooster incorporating the initials. It all depends on how you look at it ... it's in the eye of the beholder, as they say."
The Welsh company's owner, Neil Young, also insists he never intended this as phallic imagery, saying, "We never really thought about it like that."
"Our designer created a d and b for 'dirty bird' then pushed them together to make a cockerel," Young said ... that is a direct quote from the man.
According to The Google, a "cockerel" is "a young domestic cock, usually less than a year old," while "cock" in the non-dirty sense means "rooster."
We don't recommend Googling that, FYI. Just trust is here.
Young and James may be sticking to their story, but others are crying fowl, and the Dirty Bird brain trust may not have a chicken leg to stand on here.
According to the Huffington Post, giant posters for the company also encourage potential customers to "Touch My Thigh" and "Touch My Breast."
That's allmost as funny as these honest company slogans:
