The wife of Robin Williams has released a new statement in wake of her husband's tragic death.
And it reveals new information about the late Oscar winner.
Said Susan Schneider of the actor's state at the time of his suicide:
"Robin's sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson's Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly."
Along with the Parkinson's admission, Schneider said she and Robin's loved ones have found "some solace in the tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration for him from the millions of people whose lives he touched.
"His greatest legacy, besides his three children, is the joy and happiness he offered to others, particularly to those fighting personal battles."
She concluded:
"It is our hope in the wake of Robin's tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid."
It's important to note that Schneider does NOT draw a direct correlation between Williams' suicide and Parkinson's Disease.
The actor took his own life on Monday morning by hanging himself with a belt, following a failed attempt to cut his wrist with a pocket knife.
His personal assistant found his body inside his Northern California home, while a coroner has confirmed the cause of death as
