Rumors that Ariana Grande acts like a bratty diva at press events have plagued the pint-sized pop star ever since she hit the A-list. (So, like, for three or four months, basically.)
The latest incident took place in Australia, where Ariana's diva demands led to the cancelation of a photo shoot. Ariana has denied that she's a young Mariah in the making, but a very credible source on the topic of red carpet behavior put Grande on blast today:
Giuliana Rancic has been covering star-studded events for E! for 13 years, and she's spoken with just about every level of celeb there is.
When asked about Ariana recently, Giuliana stopped just short of saying she wants to smack her:
"I do think she has a little diva thing going on," Rancic said in a recent interview. "I don't know if that's her image she wants out there. 'I'm a young Mariah. I'm a diva.'"
Giuliana went on to tell an unflattering anecdote in which Ariana elbowed her out of the way so that she could position herself on her "good side" during their interview. (Grande is notoriously obsessed with left side of her face. Seriously.)
"Little Ariana comes over, elbowed me to my side and they pushed me to the other side," said Rancic. "Yo, I had to fight 13 years to get this side of the camera!"
In closing, Giuliana offered some advice to Ariana:
"Try to get a great reputation. Try to go overboard to please people."
Wise words at any stage of a career, but especially true when you're just starting out.
