A two-year-old in Maine suffered second-degree burns after being tossed into a clothes dryer by his mother's boyfriend, who then turned the machine on.
Adam Morton, 27, of Berlin, N.H., was held without bail after appearing in court Monday in Bangor, Maine, where local police charged him with aggravated assault.
He admitted to putting the boy in the dryer, closing the door and turning it on.
The unnamed mother of the victim claims she came home from work, saw her son and rushed him to the emergency room at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Morton was arrested after police launched an investigation into the situation.
Yet the mother, who has four children in all, reportedly believes police pressured Morton, who she had been dating for only a short time, into confessing.
"For me, I don't believe for a second Adam did it," the mother told the Bangor Daily News. "It just doesn't make sense to me. For me, [the evidence is] inconclusive."
So the kid did it to himself? Then why was Morton arrested for it? Anyone?
Someone must've pointed the finger or had reason to suspect him, right?
In any case, his bail set at $2,500, Morton is barred from contacting any child under the age of 6 if and when he posts it and is freed pending his next court date.
