#Fatkini. The new hashtag trending on Instagram and Twitter is just what you think it is, and its photos aspire to do exactly what you think they do.
The viral campaign began when curvy beach-goers were fed up by fat-shaming they endure, and by a society that quietly but deliberately shuns them.
In other words, they feel they're not "allowed" to wear bikinis because they weren't a size four or under, and they're not going to stand for it anymore.
To spite these critics, women everywhere decided to post photos of themselves striking their favorite #fatkini poses across their social media pages.
The long and short of it, as the mother mocked for her stretch marks can attest: Every girl can her body in any way she chooses, even at the beach.
