From the outset of the Sons of Anarchy Season 7 premiere, it became very apparent:
Tara Knowles wasn't the only person who was killed at the conclusion of Season 6. The Jax Teller who cared about club reform was wiped away as well.
We opened "Black Widower" and closed "Black Widower" on the same frightening image of Jax covered in blood, as he at first struck a deal with white supremacists in prison and then sought (violent) revenge on the man he believed murdered his wife.
And those consistent scenes served as a theme throughout the lengthy premiere: Jax is no longer a man with any sort of agenda... outside of vengeance.
Take SAMCRO down a clean path? Get away from guns? Get out entirely? Those ideas are so last year.
As Jax so clearly stated at the head of the table, he's already lost his wife. There's no way he's gonna lose his club.
Are Chibbs and company in for whatever it takes to make SAMCRO whole again and to get back at those responsible for taking Tara away from their President? Oh yes, the VP said. They are all in.
GULP.
While Jax was focused on revenge, Gemma was in some kind of denial.
She justified killing Tara in ways that only Gemma can, while actually talking to her dead daughter-in-law at one point.
She also tried to help Juice hide out in Wendy's apartment, which proved to be a problem when Wendy left rehab early and found him there. She agreed to help, moving in with Gemma to help take care of the kids, but not before Unser found Juice's backpack in the closet.
Juice responded by putting a gun to Unser's head.
Back to Jax: his plan is to destroy the Chinese. He believes they're responsible for Tara's death. And he put the scheme into motion by pretending he's on there side and inviting them to a party at the porn warehouse.
But this was only so he could apprehend the man Gemma claimed murdered Tara. Once Jax had him tied up in his house, with an audience of other SAMCRO members, he tortured the man and killed him with a carving fork to the skull.
Appropriate, right? And disgusting?
So Jax is on the war path. Juice is in hiding. And viewers, who can watch Sons of Anarchy online via TV Fanatic if they missed the premiere, are left to wonder: When will Jax learn the truth about Gemma?
