It was certainly a lot better for Meredith than hearing Derek say "you sound just like your mother," as these two continued to go at it. She said he "martyred" by remaining Seattle and has just been waiting for her to fail.

She did NOT, however, say what was bothering her. She did not tell Derek about the Maggie bombshell.

But it would later come out.

After Amelia paired Maggie with Derek - because Maggie tendered her resignation and Amelia was determined to change her mind - Maggie revealed the truth to her unsuspecting half- brother-in-law.

And he reacted in the opposite way from how Meredith responded the week before.

"Meredith is terrible with sisters," Derek explained while hugging her new quasi relative. "I'm not."

Finally, after Der and Mer called a truce, the latter showed Maggie pages from their mother's journal. The lack of wine glass stains once Ellis learned she was pregnant with Maggie at least proved she was trying. She had wanted Maggie to be healthy.

With the half-siblings bonding for the first time, Richard sat back and watched from a distance, smiling.

ELSEWHERE:

• Richard also revealed the truth about Maggie to Miranda, who reacted in priceless fashion: "Oh, thank you, God! I thought you had sex with that girl!"
• And Richard also told Meredith that he dumped Ellis on that fateful carousel day because he was jealous of her skill. That's why she tried to kill herself.
• Arizona told Alex she lied about it having been a close Board vote because she worried he wouldn't have agreed to come back to Grey Sloan as a pediatric surgery attending otherwise. And she really needed him to do so. Alex agrees, but mentioned that he should be making a lot more money.

Were you surprised Alex forgave Arizona so quickly? Do you think there's a happy future ahead for Meredith and Maggie? What about Meredith and Derek?!?
