Viewers were taken for a ride on South Park Season 18 Season 4.
Literally, that is, as the latest install ment of this Comedy Central hit focused on the quasi controversy of how servies such as Uber and Lyft are upsetting the nation's taxi industry.
The episode was set in autumn, with young South Park residents raising money for summer camp.
Timmy came up with the idea of carting people around in a wagon attached to his electric wheelchair, dubbing the business "Handicar" and watching as it exploded overnight.
Enter Nathan and Mimsy, who many viewers may not remember from Season 14.
They hate summer camp and they were intent on destroying Timmy's grand idea so no one could attend this year.
(NOTE: apparently the use of Nathan and Mimsy here was partly a parody of Wacky Races, a 1968 animated series that we'd be really impressed if anyone remembers.)
The half hour featured cab drivers being stereotyped as one would expect (the Russian had Russian dolls on his dashboard, naturally), along with a commentary on how the taxi world should be cleaner, nice and more convenient.
The episode concluded with Timmy selling his company and raising $2.4 billion for camp, although Nathan's mother didn't listen to anything he said due to his "mental disability."
There were also references to Elon Musk (in regard to the recently revealed Tesla D) and Matthew McConaughey (in regard to those ubiquitous Lincoln commercials)
Pretty funny stuff, but South Park just isn't South Park when the focus isn't on Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, Butters or Randy. There was way too much of Nathan and Mimsy this week.
Still, there are always plenty of South Park quotes that make us chuckle and you can follow that link to relive them via TV Fanatic. You can watch South Park online over there as well. Enjoy!
