Stephen Collins and Faye Grant are embroiled in a bitter divorce battle.
According to the official legal documents, over $14 million is at stake, most of it earned by the veteran TV actor.
For this reason, an attorney for Collins states, Grant has been trying to blackmail his client by threatening to expose an audio recording she made of Collins speaking in a 2012 therapy session.
The tape - listen to it HERE - clearly features this former 7th Heaven star admitting to three cases of sexual molestation, including one in which he placed an 11-year old girl's hand on his penis.
Grant has already denied leaking the tape and, in a statement released on Wednesday, she also fought back against claims of extortion.
"This is a deeply sad situation for everyone involved," Grant says. "With regard to the divorce proceedings, I am seeking no more than that to which I am legally entitled under the laws of the State of California.
"The recording of Mr. Collins' statements has not been part of family court proceedings or any negotiations related to that action at any time."
A trial for this estranged couple's divorce is set for November 12.
Grant's lawyer, meanwhile, has also come out with a statement.
It reads that any extortion assertion is "fabricated and defamatory, and could not be farther from the truth."
It also details how Grant turned over the damning audio to the authorities two years ago and labels Collins' attempt to distract from the actual incidents in question as "offensive and outrageous."
"Contrary to the efforts by Mr. Collins' lawyer to infer that my client tried to extort a settlement from Mr. Collins with the recording, neither my client nor any of her representatives ever made the recording part of the family law Proceedings," this statement concludes.
"As stated previously, neither Faye nor any of her representatives had any part in providing the audio tape or any part thereof to the media."
