Millions of his female fans wept when the news was announced that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes were expecting a child.
Now that the kid is here, however, there's nothing but excitement, as we all get to watch one of the world's most stylish, attractive couples raise a kid who will probably be offered a modeling contract before she's old enough to walk, much less walk the runway.
So what's the little baby girl's name? You're not going to be able to guess this one ...
Thankfully, unlike Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' baby name, there's nothing bizarre or gender-inappropriate about the Gosling-Mendes baby name.
There will be questions about why Gosling and Mendes chose the name, though.
The baby girl goes by Esmerelda Amada Gosling. Fittingly exotic, but not too look-at-me bizarro, right? It's a perfect name for what's sure to be a perfect kid, but it may reveal a bit of vanity on Eva's part:
Amada is the name of the character Eva played in the 2007 crime drama We Own the Night. If you never saw the film, don't worry - neither did anyone else.
The movie came and went from theaters with little fanfare, but apparently it had quite the impact on Eva because, c'mon...we have a hard time believing that "Amada" is just a coincidence.
Hopefully at some point the couple will have a son so they can name him after one of Ryan's characters. Dude With The Scorpion Jacket From Drive Gosling, would be the coolest kid in kindergarten.
